NZ RegCo Board update

NZ RegCo Board update 15 December 2025 - NZ RegCo today announced the retirement of Trevor Janes as Board Chair and member, effective 31 December 2025. Mr Janes was initially appointed in 2020, as a member of the NZ RegCo Establishment Board. His retirement comes at the end of his appointed term and he will be succeeded as NZ RegCo Chair by board member David Hunt. David Hunt has extensive executive, advisory and governance experience. He is deputy Chair of the Accident Compensation Corporation, a director of Northpower, Dairy NZ and WEL Networks. Previous roles have included serving as Contact Energy CEO and director of Christchurch City Holdings Limited. David Hunt acknowledged the significant contribution Trevor Janes had made to the establishment and effective running of NZ RegCo. “Trevor has been instrumental in shaping NZ RegCo's approach to governance, assurance oversight and strategic direction as a regulatory agency. The Board acknowledges and thanks Trevor for his outstanding service,” Mr Hunt says.
