• In December 2025 there was a total of 1,067k international passenger movements in the month, a 4% increase compared to the same month in 2024. Excluding transits, international passenger movements for the month of December 2025 also increased by 4% on the prior year. International seat capacity increased 2% on the same month last year resulting in average load factors of 86%, a 1.1 percentage point increase; • Reviewing the five largest nationalities for non-transit international passengers showed that New Zealanders made up 42% of international passenger movements in the month, with volume increasing 5% on prior year. Australian nationals accounted for 11% of passengers with volumes flat year on year, USA nationals 9% with volumes flat year on year, Chinese nationals 7% with volumes increasing 17%, and UK nationals 4% with volumes increasing 1%. All other nationalities combined increased by 2%; • Domestic passenger movements were flat in the month of December 2025 when compared to the same month in the prior year, with seat capacity increasing 2%, resulting in a 1.6 percentage point reduction in load factors to 84%. Passenger numbers on the domestic trunk routes grew 1% compared to the year prior with 4% more seat capacity reducing load factors by 2.1 percentage points to 85%. Regional passenger numbers declined 4% and seat capacity declined by 3%; and • Queenstown Airport international passenger numbers in December 2025 increased 14% on the year prior and domestic passengers increased 7% on the same month last year. International passenger numbers exceeded one million over a 12 month period for the first time in December 2025.
