Kiwibank Director Appointment

Kiwibank Board appointment Kiwibank Limited (Kiwibank) today announced the appointment of Ms. Rukumoana Schaafhausen MNZM as a director of Kiwibank, effective from 22 June 2026. Ms. Schaafhausen is an experienced governance leader with extensive experience across iwi development, commercial, infrastructure, energy, water, housing and investment, and community sectors, with a particular focus on creating long-term intergenerational outcomes for Māori communities. She previously served as Chair of Te Arataura, the executive board of Waikato-Tainui, where she played a key role in advancing iwi strategic, social and economic development initiatives. She is widely recognised for her ability to bridge iwi, public and private sector interests to deliver strategic partnerships and sustainable growth. Ms. Schaafhausen currently serves as a director of Tainui Group Holdings, Contact Energy, and Watercare Services, and is a trustee of The Tindall Foundation. Ms. Schaafhausen also serves as a director of Kiwi Group Capital Limited, the non-operating holding company of Kiwibank.
